These colors brought to mind a picture of my niece, Sarah, when she was a baby. In this adorable photo, my sister, Liz, is smiling in the background at her daughter.

We have lots of musicians in our family, so I had many photos from which to choose. I picked some fun photos of my niece, Becca, who plays tuba (sousaphone) in the marching band at the University of Minnesota.
In addition to marching, all the tuba players in the band work together as a synchronized group to do dips, spins, turns, twists, and lifts. Since a tuba weighs 50 pounds, these special moves require strength as well as precision. When the home team scores, each tuba player bench presses his/her tuba as many times as the total number of points. If the score gets high, this is very impressive! Imagine lifting 50 pounds of tuba 35 times!
