Ageless Love

On a lovely summer day, my heart sighed as I watched my niece and her new husband dance their first dance as a married couple. On a cold winter day, I was moved by the sight of an older couple as they quietly viewed the setting sun. Love is beautiful at any age.

Out on the Town

I love music, so seeing a musical live onstage is very special experience. In April, 2009, Mom, Dad, Harry and I enjoyed dinner and the musical "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre. What a treat!

A Quick Shot

On Thanksgiving Day, 2008, when one of my sons announced he was leaving, I quickly grabbed all three boys, lined them up against the wall and shot this photo. You have to be fast!

Kissing a Log

When I first looked at the new kit, Shades of Love, put out by Di @ Legacy4Life, kissing a log didn’t immediately come to mind. But as you can see, that is indeed what I am doing in one of the photos on the two-page layout below.

These pictures were taken on a gorgeous day in March, 2009. There were signs of spring all around: the ice was melting on the lake, the skating rink was becoming a big puddle, people were jogging on the wet, snowy-edged paths, and it was so warm I took my jacket off.

Harry and I acted so silly we must have had spring fever! We especially had fun with a hollow log we found. Harry looked through and listened to the log, but I actually kissed it!

Silver is Golden

To celebrate my grandparents’ 25th wedding anniversary, there was a big reception in the basement of their church. Even though it was their silver wedding anniversary, their memories were golden.

It always bothered me that the top of grandpa’s head was “chopped off” in the photo of my grandparents in front of the cake on their silver wedding anniversary. However, since my sister’s baptism was celebrated on the same day, we have a picture of Nancy with my grandparents that included all of Grandpa’s head. Using various functions of GIMP (lasso, perspective, scale, levels, clone tool), I extracted the top of grandpa’s head from one photo and pasted it on the other. I think it is a big improvement. I had to reassure my son, “Yes, Grandpa’s hair really did look that way.”
