Ageless Love

On a lovely summer day, my heart sighed as I watched my niece and her new husband dance their first dance as a married couple. On a cold winter day, I was moved by the sight of an older couple as they quietly viewed the setting sun. Love is beautiful at any age.

Wishful Thinking

As I was strolling through our neighborhood one winter day in January, 2009, I was surprised to see this snow-covered mailbox. Though my fingers froze, I just had to take a picture of this wishful thinking.

Out on the Town

I love music, so seeing a musical live onstage is very special experience. In April, 2009, Mom, Dad, Harry and I enjoyed dinner and the musical "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre. What a treat!

A Quick Shot

On Thanksgiving Day, 2008, when one of my sons announced he was leaving, I quickly grabbed all three boys, lined them up against the wall and shot this photo. You have to be fast!

Kissing a Log

When I first looked at the new kit, Shades of Love, put out by Di @ Legacy4Life, kissing a log didn’t immediately come to mind. But as you can see, that is indeed what I am doing in one of the photos on the two-page layout below.

These pictures were taken on a gorgeous day in March, 2009. There were signs of spring all around: the ice was melting on the lake, the skating rink was becoming a big puddle, people were jogging on the wet, snowy-edged paths, and it was so warm I took my jacket off.

Harry and I acted so silly we must have had spring fever! We especially had fun with a hollow log we found. Harry looked through and listened to the log, but I actually kissed it!

There is kissing in this next layout, too! However, my sister Nancy isn’t kissing a log; she's just being silly.

Stressed out? Bored? Try taking pictures to pass the time. You'll feel better. I took these photos of my sister, Nancy, as Dad, Nancy and I waited for my mom to get out of knee replacement surgery.

More Puppy Love

I decided to make another “crazy quilt” page of Liz and Riley since I had this cute picture of them. What a fun way to make a layout! If you want to see the first page, click here.

Scraplifted from “In der Weihnachtsbäckerei” by Kerri; Materials: “One Day I’ll Fly Away” (bird re-colored), Digi-designs by Nicole and Dream Big Designs; word art by Word Art World by Jennifer; dog tag by Gunhild Storeide; chain by Scrappin Cop; Programs: GIMP, PSE 6; Font: Segoe Script Bold

Liz and her family were delighted with their new puppy, Riley. He gave them lots of joy. Judging by his enthusiastically waggling tail, they all made Riley happy, too.

Since Harry and I first decided to date on Valentines' Day in 1979, these photos from Valentines' Day in 2009 represent 30 years of our being sweethearts. My honey hubby grows more special to me every year!

Silver is Golden

To celebrate my grandparents’ 25th wedding anniversary, there was a big reception in the basement of their church. Even though it was their silver wedding anniversary, their memories were golden.

“The Love Journal” kit and matching alpha by Di @ Legacy4Life; Programs: GIMP, PSE 6; Font: Monotype Corsiva Italic; I submitted this layout for the Altered Photo Challenge at DSO.

It always bothered me that the top of grandpa’s head was “chopped off” in the photo of my grandparents in front of the cake on their silver wedding anniversary. However, since my sister’s baptism was celebrated on the same day, we have a picture of Nancy with my grandparents that included all of Grandpa’s head. Using various functions of GIMP (lasso, perspective, scale, levels, clone tool), I extracted the top of grandpa’s head from one photo and pasted it on the other. I think it is a big improvement. I had to reassure my son, “Yes, Grandpa’s hair really did look that way.”

To make this layout, I used "The Love Journal", a new kit by Di @ Legacy4Life. The various parts of this kit are available at reduced prices until Friday, February 4. Click on the preview below to visit her store for the basic kit.
Di also made a beautiful gold alpha to go with her kit. You can pick that up by clicking on the preview below.
You can find her work art package by clicking on the preview below.
If you want all three parts, click on the preview below.
Don't forget to visit Di's blog for this gorgeous freebie, only available until Friday, February 4. I especially like the beautiful frame.
Hurry to pick up all these goodies before Friday so you can get the discounted prices. Happy Scrapping!
