Fishing Grows on You

John caught his first fish when he was just two years old. He was so afraid of the tiny sunfish that he had to hold Harry’s hand while I took the photo. Twenty years later, John caught a huge pike in Canada. He didn’t need to hold anyone’s hand then!

Our Responsibility to the Earth.

Earth Day is Friday, April 22.  This page is in honor of that day.

God gave the human race the earth to work the land and take care of it, to fill the earth and rule over every living thing. This year for Earth Day, let us consider how we each can fulfill our God-given responsibilities so the earth is used for mankind’s good as well as preserved for future generations.

The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. (Genesis 2:15)

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” (Genesis 1:28)

I submitted this page the the 4/19 Scrap Girls Weekly Newsletter Challenge to create a page based on a sketch.

From time to time, I take pictures of the shapes of things around me that catch my eye. A number of years ago I made a file for this type of photo with plans to create a layout with them. I finally did! This page was inspired by an abstract piece of art, so it is not in my usual style. I think it's kind of fun and artsy.

Materials: Some papers modified. Emily Abramson: Honey Garden Paper Biggie (April Scrap Girls Club kit); Brandy Murry: Captured Papers; Brandy Murry: Idyllic Papers; Font: Corporate HQ

I submitted this page for the 4/16 Weekend Wildcard Challenge to create a page based on a selected piece of art. I used the idea of circles and bold colors.
